Gill sadly passed away on Tuesday 2nd February 2021. Much loved wife of Gordon, mother of Bruce, Keith and Suzie and a loving grandmother. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew her.

Watching Indy 500 today and remembering Jill and Gordon. Mark and I so enjoyed their friendship on and off the racetrack. They were the most loving couple, as well as warm and friendly. Gordon you are in our thoughts as we celebrate another Indy 500 and look back with such fond memories.

What a blessing to have had Gill in our lives! She is pure sunshine and joy, a wonderful friend all these years. Gordon and Gill graciously moved to southern California to work with us in Motorsports, PPI. We have so many stories, so much humor, a love of jazz music and mischief. We cherish wonderful memories from those years, and, those years which came after when they returned to the UK. This friendship has warmed our hearts and souls. So here is to our special friend, wonderful woman, Gill . . . Cheers to a life well lived! "She was beautiful, for the way she thought. She was beautiful, for the sparkle in her eyes when she talked about something she loved. She was beautiful for her ability to make other people smile. . .She was beautiful deep down to her soul. . ." -F. Scott Fitgerald

We met when Gordon and I worked for Cal Wells. I was just starting in Indycars with a ton of responsibility on my shoulders. You and Gordon were both so kind to me, you gave me friendship and counsel that felt more like family. We only spent a short time together in California and I owe it to you that our friendship endured through time and distance and life. I so wanted Alisa and Liam to meet you so they would know how funny, charming, warm and loving you were; that we would all have a memory of you, not just me. Alas, I will cherish my memories of you, dear Gill, and be forever grateful for your friendship. All my love.

Dearest Gill we’ve been part of your extended family since Bruce married Nic, and we’ve had many wonderful times together. You will be greatly missed by us all. Our thoughts are with Gordon, Suzie, Keith and Bruce and all your grandchildren so dearly loved by you.

Chris and Shirley
Chris knew Gordon from school and then met lovely Gilly in the early 60s at a Jazz do in Guildford-with Gill doing the Crookham Stomp to the band. Shirley also met Gill around this time. We went to their wedding (in the same hotel). We brought up our families together and shared many happy events .Gill and Gordon organised our 1st holiday together at the Quinta da Saudade in Portugal in 1983 where we still go nearly every year. All our family and friends send loving thoughts and sympathy to you Gordon and all your family. Gilly will be sadly missed by so many. R.I.P. Gilly

Dear Gill, hard to believe you are no longer with us. So many lovely messages from those that knew you. You will be so missed, your lovely smile like a drop of sunshine wherever you were and invariably laughter too. Always positive and looking smartly dressed. I will treasure the special occasions I was lucky enough to share with you and the family. The love for your family and grandchildren was very tangible. Rest in peace Gill, no more hurting for you now. Love to Gordon and all the family, thinking of you all, Elaine xxxxxx

Gill. Sue and I were so sad to hear of your passing. You will be so greatly missed far beyond your immediate wonderful family, who we have only relatively recently got to know. We were honoured to have you and Gordon attend the McLaren reunions as such important guests. On a personal level, you were so kind and you made me feel as though I'd known you all my life, especially when I had the privilege of visiting you both at home a few years ago. Our sincere condolences to Gordon and the whole Coppuck family. Rest in peace, Gill.

Jackie Coppuck

I have so many good memories of Gill, as friends as well as the happy family times we shared. What fun we had at Fisherman's in St Clemente, margarita's to cool us and the odd brandy to warm the cockles. I wish you peace after your very long battle with your illness. Love and thoughts to Gordon, Susie, Keith and Bruce, and all the grand children.

Gordon, Susie, Keith and Bruce,
At this sad time there are no words just thoughts, and you are all in ours.

Happy memories of our friendship during the 70s. You always made me feel so much part of the family, laughing and crying with me, always a shoulder and the voice of reason. You were a great Mum, a motor racing ‘widow’ holding the family together, never an easy task. I am so privileged to have known you.
My love to dear Gordon, Suzy, Keith and Bruce xx

Gill was someone who we first knew as a neighbour but very soon became a dear friend.

Where to even start or which picture to pick.

Someone who has been in my life as long as I can remember, we’ve had so many adventures as auntie and niece. I’ll miss your text messages written as if you were writing me a letter, you never missed my birthday, I still get a rush of happy memories when I smell your perfume, our family Christmases, BBQ’s on the beach, our family holidays in Wittering, I’ll miss so much about you.

I choose this picture as this is one of my most favourite ever memories. This was a perfect day, the Southern California weather was perfect, the fresh seafood at Fisherman’s was perfect and I spent it with some of my favourite people.

The best auntie I could ever have. I’ll cherish these memories and when the tears have stopped I’ll be able to look back at the pictures with smiles.

I’ll miss you, Julia xx

Some people come into our lives and leave footprints in our hearts - as Gilly did to us. There are far too many happy memories of times spent with her to list here, but suffice to say we are so grateful for having her in out lives as the dearest friend for some 20 years and of course will miss her - very dearly!

You always had a smile to share
- time to give and time to care,
A wonderful nature warm and true
- a very special friend, and will always miss you!
