Jean passed away peacefully on 27th December 2022. she will be sadly missed by her loving family and friends.

Farewell My Friends – Adapted From the Poem by Rabindranath Tagore

At every turning of my life

I came across good friends,

Friends who stood by me

Even when time raced me by.

Farewell, farewell My friends

I smile and bid you goodbye.

No, shed no tears

For I need them not

All I need is your smile.

If you feel sad do think of me

For that’s what I’ll like.

When you live in the hearts

Of those you love

Remember then

You never die.

Jean became our friend when we first did some plumbing for her and Brian at their house. The kettle was always on when we arrived. Several jobs later we were firm friends. Jean donated many lovely items for our work with Cat & Rabbit Rescue for which we were always so grateful. A lovely lady who will be missed by all who knew her.

I have known Jean since she was born, she was my cousin. I was 2 years old when she was born.
We spent most of the war years together as children in Yorkshire together with her sister Sandra.
Jean and I have kept in touch all our lives, latterly by phone.
We spoke shortly before she died and she was very positive about her recovery after her stroke so it was a great shock when Alison rang to say that Jean had died.
I will miss her very much.
Margaret.

I too met Jean at PMH and we had several holidays together. I remember sitting on the wall exposing our knees to the sunshine, comparing replacement scars! We also enjoyed turkey and tinsel weeks. We spoke on the phone regularly during lockdown and I planned to call the day she died. Delighted to meet both Jean and Alison. Mary
