Joan was born in Croydon and was adopted at a very young age and moved to Tunbridge Wells. She was employed as a telephonist where she met her future husband Ron who was employed as a telephone engineer. Joan had 3 children, Wendy, Shirley and Angela, she also leave many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rest in Peace.
