KARL WOOLVEN
June 24 1977 – January 25 2023
Son of Christa and Raymond.

The funeral was Monday February 6 2023, with close family only. Followed by cremation.
We are sharing this most touching tribute made to Karl.

Dear Karl,

What more can I say than “Thank you”.
Thank you for sharing yourself so openly with me, for letting me see who you are, warts and all. And even when I saw the warts like the few times you yelled at me, you were always so sorry and apologetic afterwards.
Thank you that in the midst of all your suffering you so regularly asked me how I am
Thank you for the endless cups of tea made exactly how you know I like it
Thank you for being a person who didn’t pretend, who spoke truly how you saw things, and who was articulate.
Thank you for the times we shared in the little shed, all the companionable silence just sitting there or leaning against the wall of the shed which was warm from the afternoon sun
Thank you for giving me the wonderful bright, best quality bike light which keeps me safe, I always think of you when I use it and I promise you I’m really careful about always taking it off the bike when I’m leaving it, just like you said I must
Thank you for showing me all the lovely photos of Flasch, please give him and Kaija big strokes from me
Thank you for the laughs we had and tears we shared
Thank you for the kindness, thoughtfulness, courage … I saw in you
Thank you that the real you is such a good man
Thank you for being my friend and just for being yourself

With love from your friend
T.

Our much loved intelligent, funny, caring son Karl, who fought so hard and bravely against his terrible cancer, on top of his ongoing struggle with the difficulties of ADD.
Karl enjoyed spending time with his dad, helping/arguing, in his workshop.
“Fathers and Sons”
Karl really cared about his friends/mates, also our neighbours, many who knew him as a child.
Reunited and together now with his beloved Staffie Flasch. Both taken away far too soon.
Thank you Tine. Karl so much valued and appreciated your friendship, support, and help, through the most difficult time of his life.
Thank you Cindy for going above and beyond your care for Karl.

LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER
YOUR MUM, DAD AND PACO

We thank you in advance for anyone wishing to make a donation. The PDSA (Peoples Dispensary for Sick Animals) will be most grateful.

For Karl

Although the years have gone by without any contact, it doesn't mean we haven't
thought of you.
We especially remember your mechanical mind and love of all machinery. Like the time when as a teenager you came to help us on our nursery, you much preferred to take our trucks apart to mend (although not always able to put them back together).
We have heard how you fared over the years through Brian and odd chance meetings with your parents.
We wish you to be at peace and send our Love. Pauline and Steve

Dear Karl
Thank you for your caring, enthusiastic and approachable nature, the helping hand that you were always happy to lend. Even through the toughest times you were always a constant, smiling presence.
Thank you for showing kindness, caring and compassion to Josh. Teaching him to be safe around the yard, fire safety and fixing up his little tractor.
We will always remember Bonfire night, when we set off fireworks and Hollie and Josh stood and watched while you and Matt ran round the field placing and setting off the fireworks, followed by a huge bonfire – the bonfire was too large for the children to toast their marshmallows, so off you went with a shovel to get some embers and you stood there while they toasted them making sure they were safe, thank you.
Rest in Peace now Karl.
Matt, Nikki, Hollie and Josh
