Margaret Rose Wright

Margaret Rose Wright

27.04.1948 - 19.04.2024

It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Rose Wright announce her sudden passing on 19th April 2024 after a short illness. Margaret passed away peacefully at St Wilfrid’s Hospice surrounded by her loving family.

Her warm and loving nature will be remembered fondly by all those that had the pleasure of meeting her. Margaret was a devoted wife to Mike, proud mum to Andrea and Karen and an amazing Grandma to Olivia and Eva, showering each and every one with love and affection.

Margaret enjoyed her holidays abroad with Mike and in the earlier days with her girls in tow. She would embrace the local cultures especially if it involved dancing and would often be seen laughing on the dance floor. No matter what the holiday involved, even during those wet trips to Wales she would always ensure they were full of happy memories.

Margaret was a keen gardener and would spend most of the summer months seeding, sowing, pruning and tending to the many plants in her garden. She also enjoyed a good book, watching a murder mystery or listening to her favourite music. Ultimately being there for her family was what brought Margaret the most happiness.

We will be celebrating Margaret’s life with a ceremony at the Arun Crematorium on Monday 20th May at 13:00 and warmly welcome people to join us afterwards for refreshments.

We would love to enable other families to receive the great care that Margaret had at St Wilfrid’s and request that donations in memory of Margaret are made to the hospice in place of flowers.

We would often see Margaret when either she or us were out walking and she was always happy to have a chat about gardening.

In loving memory of a lovely lady who always had a smile on her face. We always knew when you were close by as we could smell your signature perfume before we saw you! You always stopped for a friendly chat and I will really miss that. Sleep tight Margaret. xx

We got to know Margaret over 40 years ago when Mike and Graham worked together in Rustington. We attended several works events and over the last few years have regularly met up for meals and a good chat. A lot of time was spent talking about our families and wonderful grandchildren, Margaret was a very warm person and so proud of her family. We are really going to miss such a lovely friend.

Dear Grandma,
I miss you very much, I miss your new sparkly nails every time I saw you, I miss waking up early and sitting in the lounge admiring you doing your hair having a lovely chat! I miss you telling grandad off when he was being too cheeky, I miss when you had a very stern word with the cafe when a gluten free brownie was touching a gluten brownie making sure I was safe. I miss you grandma and I will make sure to make you proud through my upcoming GCSE’s and anything I go on to do in my life. I love you so much grandma xxx
