Mr Michael John Shaw

My heartfelt condolences to Jane.

I first met Mick on the Friday night of the 1st September, 1995, at The Richmond Arms in Chichester. I was invited to meet him & listen to his band, the Power of 3, with a view to joining them - I later passed the audition................
When I first heard him play, I knew then he was a very special player, & in all my years as a semi pro/professional musician, I had not heard a player as capable as he was.
I performed with Mick in over 1000 gigs, for the best part of 24 years.
In that time, we grew closer as both musicians & friends - enjoying many gigs, rehearsals & musical trips to shops in London & other places to see other musicians/bands.
We socialised often & in the last 6 years, more so with Mick's wife Jane & my future wife Lyn.
I loved Mick like a brother & he was the best man I knew - so much, that I asked him to be my best man at our wedding, which should have been tomorrow, but alas, he didn't make it & COVID-19 also got in the way.
I wish him well on his new travels & may he now rest in peace with the new Power of 3 - God, Jesus & The Holy Spirit
