I have just seen your obituary online.
I remember you from my teenage years, dating back to about 1982, when you were my joint choirmaster and organist at St. Wilfred’s church.
I remember this time with great affection and recollect that you often played music in church that you had composed.
Although I have never seen you since this time, I thank you for all your help and am sure you have been a key influence on my love of music and singing, ever since.
God bless you.

Christine and Terry Stanton.

Christine and Terry Stanton remember Rex Latter as a musician and composer of great talent. He was a good friend and a considerable influence for good on our own musical efforts. He was a true gentleman in the real meaning of that word. He will be greatly missed by many, including us, and especially by Helen and all his family and hers, who must be very proud of him. If anyone deserves to be in Heaven, it is Rex who served God faithfully with his music, in and out of Church.

Rex, as a member of Off Centre choir, you sang and played for us for years. But especially wonderful for us were the songs you wrote. I remember Mary (Quiney) and I sang "Philippa's Gift" one afternoon at BRMC, and although that went down well, it was the rehearsals we had in the days before that are precious memories. Nothing ever seemed to phase you, and you shared your talents with us humbly and willingly. I am grateful that I got to know you and was able to share in a little part of your long and wonderful life. God bless.

We will all remember Rex's sensitive playing, whether as soloist on piano or organ or accompanying others, giving wonderful support. The music which he composed he leaves behind for others to enjoy. R.I.P.

I feel very privileged to have heard Rex play at the Bognor Regis Music Club on numerous occasions over the last seven years, and to get to know him a little. I'm grateful that he gave me a copy of his song 'De Profundis', after I admired his performance of it at a Members' concert. I hope to accompany a singer performing it in the autumn, and will treasure that wonderful music. Rex was a fine musician and a lovely, humble man. I thank God for his life, and the many lives he touched with his kindness and artistic skill. I won't forget him.
