Shirley passed away peacefully after a short illness on Sunday 17th March 2024. Shirley will be sadly missed by her children; Philip, David, Stephen, Antony, Louise & Debbie, Grandchildren; Jake & Taylor, George & Harry, Hannah & Euan, Craig & Paige, Charlie & Michael.

Shirley was well known to many for her time in Scouting, Shirley started as a Cub Leader along with her husband the late Alan Cleall in the early 1970s at 1st Yapton and Ford Scout Group.

She was Cub Leader for many years, later she became Chairman of Arundel and Littlehampton Scout District and after that Chairman of West Sussex Scouts. Shirley also spent some time as a County Scout Leader trainer.

Other voluntary roles that Shirley undertook included Chairman of the West Sussex Schools Appeal Panel and Chairman of Eastergate Parish Council.

The family wish to thank everyone for the friendship and support given to Shirley throughout her life.

Where the dust of ancient bones has spread a dryness over all,
Lay me in some leafy loam where, sheltered from the cold,
Little seeds investigate, and tender leaves unfold,
